Consider/Approve Ceiling Grid and Ceiling Tile Bid

Background Information:

In addition to advertising, we solicited bids for the purchase and installation of ceiling grid and ceiling tile for the central office facility (specifications attached). Funds for this purchase were budgeted within the General Purpose School Fund budget for the current fiscal year as previously approved by the Board; however, with the progress being made, an amendment to the budget will have to be made prior to the close of the fiscal year. We received two (2) bids for this purchase, which are summarized on the bid request tally sheet. Individual bids were as follows:

Klinkhammer Acoustical, Inc. - $18,100
Universal Contractors – $19,520

The low bid meeting all specifications was submitted by Klinkhammer Acoustical, Inc. in the amount of $18,100.

Staff Recommendation:

I recommend approval of the bid received as submitted by Klinkhammer Acoustical, Inc. in the amount of $18,100 for the purchase and installation of ceiling grid and ceiling tile for the central office facility.
